van will crank, run on ether, no power to fuel pump relay coil circuit, security light not flashing, fuel pump works

Also.. IF no power @ fuel pump fuse with key on, jumper fuse to battery voltage... If engine runs ok then, replace ignition [electrical} switch!.. With key on see if everything else is working as it should.. That may be an indicator as well... Just something I've run up on before...
check fuse for fuel pump relay.if good, replace fuel pump relay.
thank you for your response, I have verified the relay is good and if the fuse is located in the power center it is good as well
if you pull the fuel pump relay.on the socket, pin#30,should have battery voltage at this pin.
Thank you again for your help, if that is the fuel pump power circuit I do have power there, just no power to the relay coil circuit. I probably should check the fuse point to ensure I have power on one side of it. Will check when the rain stops. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge with me and will post my findings.
look under the hood under the master cylinder by the power dist. harness, see if there is an inline fuse there.if so, check that fuse.also,i know you say the relay is good, but i would swap it with another one or replace it.post findings.
Hello, thank you for your help. I have power at the fuel pump relay fuse if that is what you are referring to. Fuse is good as well. Seems like something should be sending power to the relay coil to close it. Any idea where I can get a wiring diagram ? Thank you

Thanks again, read a few times. Is the ecm and vcm the same thing? I found the ecm online and its pretty reasonable. Have any electrician questions? I am one and can help answer any questions you might have.
How safe is it to hook up a receptacle on the back side of a 2 way switch?.. Can't use ground just neutral... I want to put a receptacle on an outside wall and tie it into an inside 2 way switch because it's so handy to do it that way.. Will be for limited use, is it safe?.. Would it even or accept a ground fault?
Entretien Programme!!buddy,i had this happen 2 nights ago, never seen this.bought new counter top microwave,6-20-2014.2 nights ago at 11:00pm,microwave plugged up,not using it.it started humming in back, unplugged it,still humming.3:45am still humming,(while unplugged)threw in field beside house,i thought cap. gonna blow.i bought a 2 year ext.warranty on it,but the 1 year manufact. warranty not up yet.they gave me a new one, more $ but price over-ride,so cheaper $.they really thought i was on DRUGS.i told them to please PLUG it up,but they didn't.now,IM-A gonna fix that from happening again.ima gonna splice in to my old 220vac hot water heater wiring, got gas now.ima using 1 leg hot,120vac,1 leg neutral, now on same receptacle, other side where neutral goes, hook up other leg,hot wire,on other side where hot goes, hook up bare ground,10-4!!then ima going to ground it with 24vdc...i got this!!! ABC Store Certified Electrician.
I will be working through a cut out in a brick wall just big enough to put in a receptacle box in... can't do much improvising.. Besides , neutral and ground go to same lug in breaker box, right?..Can't use the ground on back side of a two way switch...
going to spray jag motor brb,its a running!!
Really, that's exactly what I'm talking about! It's only going to get worse as technology advances and folks keep lifting the hood... Most (not all) of 'em can't figure out a forked stick and gonna attempt to work on a vehicle, unreal..... Now tell me I'm wrong..
now,you know i can't tell you that.if anybody has not worked on a vehicle in the last 30 years or so,ain't got a clue.it's not put a cap, button, plugs, wires, anymore, and off you go,s--t.i saw a guy a few years ago pull a wire off of a coil on a 93 regal, with it running,i had to help him up from floor.the tool he was using went 40 feet in the air on other side of HIS shop.the end!!!
Piushrod, don't use the ground (bare wire) as your neutral. The bare wire should only have current on it in the event of a fault. If you use the grounding wire as your neutral and there is a bad spot on your cord or the equipment is bad you will electrocute yourself or someone. Can you send a wiring diagram and maybe you have the wires you need. Open both 3 way switches up and tell me how its wired for more help. Thanks again
Haven't actually started this project yet, I was going to leave the ground open...and use the neutral.. Just some thoughts as this would be a very handy spot to put this receptacle...but it is behind a two way switch... I could drop down lower and branch off of another inside receptacle but had rather have it up higher..not a good place to run a wire either!
2 things...you can tap off the 3 way switch as long as its the line end and not the load end. make sure you use the same size wire. you can send me details at jimburnsinc@gmail.com. I tried the suggestion of checking the dk green / white wire and have power there. I am off to buy a relay don't don't think its the fix. will let you know I have discovered it doesn't have spark after all. I was misled when I used starting fluid it sounded like it ran. Talk about barking up the wrong tree....
Take some advice from the experience I have had with these engines... FIRST: Pull the coil wire from dist cap and test for spark from coil.. If spark is ok .. Replace the cap and rotor!!.. IF no spark, post results for more info.
no spark, tested coil and ignition module. no power on lead to coil, fuse is good. going to jump the coil to see if it will start. thinking ignition switch
As stated before... I've had some problems with the ign sw.
is it fun to pull ? I will run a jumper and she if she fires... thank God for the internet and people like you. I would dare to say this is probably why I have a draw on the battery and the fan always ran at the end..
It's not bad, just remove the cover on column and lower dash trim.. Google it, prob find a vid on YouTube.. Same for Chevy ... Truck will be same also. Good luck with it!
well for whats its worth I checked the ignition switch and all was good. I got an idea from a local guy to check all my fuses. I did, they were all good. Now I have power at the coil and fuel pump relay. Must have been bad connection on a fuse or two. No spark so am going to buy a new coil tomorrow. Hope this solves it. Thanks for your help
