I replaced the radiator and after I took a trip to Montana it started to smell like something was burning and now I'm driving around town the temperature starts to rise quickly

Coolant leak - - Thermostat malfunction - - Combustion entering cooling system (failed head gasket) - - Insufficient cooling fan operation - poor airflow into engine bay at slow speeds.

Assuming air trapped from radiator replacement has been purged from cooling system during trip.
