my vehicle doesn't want to shift into reverse. could it be the linkage or cable.

light turns on just doesn't want to go into gear , Have to play with it for a while until it goes into reverse . Took it to a mechanic and he said is internal so he needs to remove the transmission and i said hell no is not that serious for you to remove the transmission.

I'm thinking shifter cable/linkage issue!.. I can't see it of course, have another mechanic take a look!.. IF it does go in reverse.. Don't think trans removal is needed either!

I took it out of the mechanic shop because i wanted a second opinion and he wanted to charge me $800 just because he said it's internal . took it to another mechanic he put lucas transmission oil and told me to take for a long drive on the high way not only my reverse works now but the car drives a lot smoother. lesson learn always get a second or third opinion from different mechanics you will find a honest one out there.
