AC hose leak; is there a repair choice besides spending $1600.00 ( front /rear)?

AC developed leak near fire wall. Two hoses rubbed together and wore a hole in fitting; looks aluminum. I am trying a steel epoxy with stainless clamp over it. Any other suggestions?

Impossible to say without visual inspection.. IF accessible - possibly could be TIG welded. Good luck!
