1992 Geo Metro Convertible had transmission replaced with rebuilt automatic transmission but did not fix third gear still popping out of gear. Does EGR valve factor in? No noise or leak detected.

What makes this problem better or worse?

Worse when engine is warmed uo

Since transmission is â€œnewâ€ - and if manual shift - suspect shift linkage problem.

EGR is not relevant. Recommend having *experienced* mechanic test drive.

Thanks it's an automatic transmission. I will try to get it driven by mechanic.

Yeah - I see it posted now - it may still be a linkage problem - however a test drive is recommended. Good luck with it!
