What is your question?
when it got cold, my 95 windstar started not wanting to go into gear at slow speeds and when it eventually got into gear it would slip in and out of gear until i get up to speed on the road but it would do it again if i had to stop at a light. after half an hour that behavior would stop and stop signs were not a problem until the next day when everything cooled off. the last time i drove it did that but it stopped doing that after the O/D light started blinking. My car drives better when that light is flashing. Why?

That’s an illusion - it appears to be driving better because the failure is being masked by the transmission not shifting into the highest gear .. It likely also seems to have more power. However fuel consumption has likely increased. The word “likely” is used here a few times - that’s due to the fact the only way to be certain is via *hands-on* testing - which can’t be accomplished ‘online’.. Servicing the transmission may be beneficial. ▪️ https://repairpal.com/repair-shops ▪️ ➕
