Auto lamp switch not working

If I rotate the light switch to the right for headlight they come on, but when I rotate it to the left for auto - lamp nothing happen daytime or night. I use to be able to rotate it to the left and as it became dark they would turn on depending on how far I rotated the switch. My windows stop adjusting also but I was able to figure out how to reset them by holding the button down for 3 seconds and then hold the button in the up position for 3 seconds.

While installing new battery, is it possible you momentarily touched the cables to the wrong battery post? .. See any sparks at any time?

Thanks for helping but I think I just found out to reset it. Daytime running lamps (DRL) (Canada Only) Turns the lowbeam headlamps on with a reduced output. To activate with automatic transmission: • the ignition must be in the RUN position; • the headlamp control is in the OFF position, Parking lamps position, or Autolamp position when the autolamp function has not turned on the headlamps (daytime); and • the transmission is out of Park. Daytime Running Lights are a seperate issue altogether ....... Canada only? Hope it works out for you!
