IF the 'high mount' (in window) is working , then it is neither the switch or a fuse. Most likely there is a bad connection or broken wire in the rear(trunk) harness , check especially along the hinge area , will require pulling the covering off the harness to see the individual wires.

What ziptie12 said is very good. If things are connected correctly, have you tried replacing the light bulbs? Hope your problem gets solved quickly and as cheap as possible. I wish you good luck.
