Is there supposed to be a hole on the bottom, backside of the timing chain cover

What is your question?

We just replaced our water pump, but found when we poured water in top to check for leaks that water flows out of hole on bottom, backside of timing chain cover (toward engine). No one seems to know if there is supposed to be a hole there.

Poured water in top of what? .... No, there are not supposed to be any 'holes' - other than factory holes for the cover and water pump mounting - in the timing cover! .. Suggest connecting hoses and other cooling system components then fill radiator and check for leaks!
