my gas pedal is sticking when i mash it. do i need to take it to a shop?

get it to a dealer. ford just had a recall for cruise control cable. may be covered.

If it happens on take off after stop, then throttle plate is sticking in throttle bore. Needs to be cleaned and idle stop screw adjusted so plate dosen't bind when closed. If it is hanging and will not return to idle, like foot still on pedal, possible cable binding. Also would feel like it's not going to slow down while driving if cable problem.
