What is your question?
Camshaft synchronizer went bad, didn't know that the chirping noise was from this part! Keep driving until I heard a lot of what sounded like metal to metal noise in the moter.. The car slowly died out on its own and now all I'm getting it a single click sound when turning the ignition. I tried turning the crankshaft manually but it will not turn. (Serpentine belt off, spark plugs out and car in neutral ) Took the throttle body off and found small metal shavings. Don't know where to go from here. 2003 Ford taurus ses 3.0

Since the engine is locked up ... I suspect you need an engine OR a vehicle! ... Engine disassembly required to find out why engine locked up and that alone ain't cheap! .. Time consuming even if you do it yourself.... If you really like this car..check price on salvage engine... If the car isn't a pretty nice ride...well..it's likely beyond 'reasonable' repair cost.
WOW! Here again this is exactly what my 3.8L 95 Taurus is doing. The shop advised me they see metal shavings already in the engine and this car is a "throw away" . Chirping noise is becoming worse. After reading this I guess I will prepare for a major SNAFU at any moment at any given time or place to be left using my Chevroleggs!
Thank you! Your response really helped me on the decision that I needed to make!
Well these days auto repair is just so expensive, if one isn't careful can put more money into a vehicle than can buy another newer & better one for... I see it quite often at the shop... I've been in the automotive business in one facet or another for 40+ years.... In retrospect, comparatively, used cars are actually cheaper now than they have ever been!..
