I kinda figured that.. That engine has some pretty tough hoses to replace... But ..IF you can find some hoses that will work, I don't see why you can't just use them, I've done that sort of thing many times... take what you have left of the hoses to NAPA and see if they got something that will work.. Use your imagination, I'll bet you can come up with something! .. Might have to use some of the metal fittings they have as well.. All you have to do is get coolant to flow through them without leaking.. For the lack of a better phrase-> More than one way to skin a cat!.. Good luck..
Copper pipe will work just fine! .. Those 'new hose assemblies' are fairly expensive and can be a real B ear to install, especially on that engine.. Had a 04 Ranger with the DOHC 4 cyl that had a hearer hose 'assembly' that wrapped all the way round the engine... Well the plastic Y pipe , that is an integral part of the assembly, broke off at the rubber hoses, I just made another Y pipe from metal piping and brazed it together and fixed that problem, saved about 3 - 4 hrs of work and the customer a bunch of money... It's still going strong! .. Now I do this stuff for a living but you can do it, just got to get in the right frame of mind!... Again, Good luck with it!
Sel DOHC 3.0
