What is your question?
I posted before about back up lights not working on my wagon. Here's what I done:Check both bulbs-they look ok,but replaced them anyway.Checked fuse under dash-looks ok.Replaced transmission shifter sensor on top of transmission(another name for a neutral safety switch I believe). Still no back up lights.Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

You need to diagnose the problem if simply replacing parts doesn't do it. Start with tthe bulb sockets, check for power and ground at the sockets. It's possible that the ground is faulty and you'll have to trace the ground circuit for the fault. If you have ground but no power, you'll have to trace the circuit back to the power source. It's possible that theh problem is in a connector so check for loose or corroded connectors. You could narrow it down by checking for power at the switch. If the switch turns on when it should, the poiwer fault is between there and the bulb sockets. If there's no power to the switch, you'll have to trace that back to the source for a fault. You may find that the switch doesn't turn on for some reason too so check that. Good luck. If you can't find it, try an auto electric shop or a Ford specialist. how do you get to bulbs 2002 wagon
Hi,I no longer have the car.If I recall correctly, the inner panel on the tailgate had to be partially pulled away. I was able to fix the lights. The problem was in the wiring harness that connects the body to the top of the tsailgate. You'll see a flexible rubber tube on both sides at the top. When I checked inside of the tubes, both sides had some broken wires.Apparently after much use, they flex until they break.I soldered in some short pieces of wire to repair, using heat shrink insulation.
Thank you very much Bob.My next plan of attack was to check ground. May I ask where grounds are typically located? Nothing in the tailgate-I'll not that my license plate lights do work.
