why wont my car charge the battery the altenator and battery are both good

i left my lights on a couple days ago when i jumped the battery the car started fine but would die when i disconnected the cables so i had the battery and the altenator checked and ended up haveing to replace the battery but the altenator is good and the battery light is still on and the car dies after the battery loses charge

THEN THE CHARGING SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING! HAVE A MECHANIC CHECK THIS FOR YOU. POSS. ALT DAMAGE FROM TRYING TO CHARGE DEAD BATTERY, AN ALTERNATOR IS NOT DESIGNED TO DO THAT. WHO CHECKED THE ALT. FOR YOU?

I agree with wetry check to see if there is power going to the alternator if there is then your alt is probably shot
