What is your question?
2011 ford ranger, replaced lower control arms and torsion bar isolators, after reassembly I can’t get the truck off the front bump stops. Torsion bar ends are hex not splined so there are only so many ways things can be assembled. I made sure torsion bars are secure in the lower control arms, but keys do have a little play(not a tight fit on the hex on the end of the torsion bar). Before I started there was maybe an inch between the bump stop and the lower control arm and the torsion bar adjustment screws were at 2/3-3/4 Screwed in.
The link posted above is to a very good how to video - ANYONE attempting this repair should watch this video! Good luck!
You could start by answering the question. I didn’t ask you how it’s done, the job is done already, reread the question details to understand the problem. I watched that vid years ago and this is the third or fourth time I’ve had the torsion bars off the truck. That’s not the issue I’m having haha
Well IF you did it ‘exactly’ like it’s done in the video - all I can add is - GOOD LUCK TO YA!
These Torsion Bar Suspension parts normally last the life of the vehicle - i was in the auto repair business for 46 years - never had a failure of the components! You have missed a step along the line some-where - the video should have shown where that was.. Answer to your question is no replacement parts should be required.. Aloha
Fair enough, sometimes their videos leave me wanting a bit more detail though but I guess they can’t do that or someone will hold it against them when they do something dumb. Funny how things like bolt sizes can be so close yet different, every time he says 13mm in that vid it’s 1/2” on my truck lol Ever order parts from them? I’ve watched a lot of their vids for fun but been shopping at rockauto..
Never ordered from 1A but I imagine they are like all the rest - RockAuto has good prices and shipping is reasonable - have gotten a few parts from em - I have Amazon Prime - they have anything you’ll ever need so that’s where I get my parts since I’ve retired.. Local parts stores are a ripoff! You need to just go back over your work - you missed a little something there a some-where.. The torsion bars need to be put back in the exact same position they were removed... That’s the reason for the index marks before removal. Good luck!
