I need to know what the differnce is on the 01 ford ranger 3.0 wiring harness goin into the cab an what shuld i do i hav to us the 96 ford ranger 3.0 wire harness on the motor an transmission how do i get power to make it run i no signal telling it to fire when key switch turns to start it so what i need to know is how to make the 96 harness work on 01 harness going to the.cab

Sence i put the motor in
IF you can get a wiring schematic for BOTH vehicles - you may be able to cut the main harness at the bulk head connector and re-wire - - I have no idea if that will work or not.. Try some online Ranger forums - someone that’s already attempted this. Just can’t swap out these ‘module controlled’ engines like you could in the past - they have to be nearly identical vehicles (same year) as far as all of the onboard electronics - INCLUDING the control modules., IF you have the ‘donor vehicle’ to rob the necessary parts from that is a huge advantage! Still a BUNCH of labor though.
