i am thinking about buying a 2001 ranger 4x4 4.0 v6 off some guy. it only has 63k miles and looks like its been very taken care of. he priced it at 6800 i offered him 5k cash. should i buy this truck for that price?
RepairPal Certified shops can diagnose and repair your 2001 Ford Ranger. They provide transparent pricing with a minimum 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty on repairs and services.
See KBB and I think you'll find that 5k is an exceptional value! .. Certainly you need to test drive the truck and check the 4 WD etc. but don't be so skeptical you can't recognize a good deal here!! .. I 'have been' in the used car business and if I had chosen to have every vehicle inspected with a fine tooth comb (which ain't free) then I wouldn't have had much success as someone else surely would have bought the vehicles on the spot as is ! . .. Take a *car savvy friend* with you to check it out... 'IF' there's some sort of hidden agenda there then it should be pretty obvious to a trained eye and ear ... Happy motoring!
I always stress to my customers to have any used vehicle they are considering inspected by a mechanic they trust before the purchase. It sounds like a good deal but you never know if there are going to be any serious issues without having an expert do a thorough inspection.
