my engine was running good until the timing belt broke, the belt has been replaced but engine will not start .

We have also seen where some of the stripped off "teeth" from the old timing belt gets caught between the crank sensor and the reluctor wheel on the crank. You might want to look at that as well as making sure all the timing marks line up.
