What is your question?
In my 2000 ford mustang, I just bought, I put my shifter in park after driving 20 miles and stopped to open gates to my driveway. I got back in and the shifter button will not depress to move it into drive or any other positions. It's stuck in park and cannot even put it into neutral to push it out of the road. It's stuck in park. It's not on an incline, it's on level ground as I tried to rock it to take pressure of of the transmission which did not work. How can I get it to depress the shifter button so I can get it out of the road? This is first time it happened to me. The lady I bought it from said it happened randomly so she would park it in neutral and used the emergency brake to park it if it was on an incline.

Check BRAKE LIGHTS - got to be working before shifter interlock will release. IF no brake lights - check wire connection at brake light switch which is attached to upper brake pedal swing arm..... Also possible blown fuse BUT you stated this is intermittent. Otherwise seek *hands-on* assistance from qualifying personnel
