What is your question?
I installed two new fuel pumps into a 1993 Mustang 5.0 lx. Replaced the new one because I thought it was bad. The car runs when I install the new fuel pumps just fine on idle. Drove it around the block about a mile and it just died. Just shut down. There is now no priming sound for the fuel pump. If I were to take it out and put it back in I know it would start right back up. Replaced the Relay switch behind the the passenger strut. That was not the problem. Is a fuel pump relay and a fuel pump switch the same thing? People keep talking about a relay under the drivers seat. Don't see a kill switch in the trunk either. Not sure why it would start and run until I drive it and then stop. Thanks for any help.

On the back side, of the drivers side tail light is the pump cut off switch..remove trim in luggage compartment to access..... While helper cranks engine, check for battery power on BOTH wires at the switch connector..... Can use a test light to check.... Let me know the results for more info! (IF you want to FIX it)!!!
Sorry, I looked. There is no pump cut off switch. That's why I can't figure it out.
Well that must be the ONE they made without it.!... Better Google images to see what it looks like,, cause it's got one!!!!!!!! I know that!... This stuff is what I do!!!! Good luck
I sure do appreciate your help. Just looked, didn't see one. I will look in the day time. Maybe under the tart for the rag top. I guess if that is the problem then, ...Do I replace it?
I guess you don't have the owners manual so Google it and see a picture of it and it's location!
Just found it. Took the whole trunk apart. On the interior panel with the back tail lights near the license plate. The red button has not popped though. Should I just replace it anyway?
NO!!!... Read what I stated earlier in my first post about how to test this problem!!!... It still needs that test!!!...That's the ONLY way to solve this! Let me know if there is battery power on BOTH of the wires in that switch connector when a helper cranks the engine! That's what is needed next... Stay with it and we will get you back on the road!!
No power. But why would it work everytime I put in a fuel pump?
IF you are POSITIVE no power at inertia switch?.....Check for fuel pump relay click when key is turned on... TEST all fuses with test light. After that you need a diagnostic flow chart with wiring schematic!!
What can cut off the NEW relay switch while trying to start it? Should I look at the ignition module or the computer? When I tap the relay the fuel pump kicks on. But when I try to start the car the relay kicks off until I replace it. I have three of them. Two are new. All will click on at some point if you tap them. In addition, I have a hissing noise coming from I believe the injectors. Can't locate the sound.
