I am having the same problem. I am thinking that it is either the mass air flow sensor or fuel pump. I am taking my 2016 Fusion that I purchased in November of 2015 to the dealership now. I will let you know what they say.

I had the same issue, once they replaced the throttle body, I haven't had any issues other than when going in reverse, the car jumps and is loud.
I brought a 2016 ford fusion se in November 2015. On June 4th after work the wrench light came on so i let it set for about a minute the check engine light stayed on i was able to drive it home then June 5th went to work no problem check engine light was off come Monday June 6th the car started jerking I made it about 25 miles from home the car slowly died I called a roadside assistant they drove it to the ford dealership and they said i needed a new throttle body the car was fixed June 7th I haven't had a problem since then
Our Blueberry was bought in Dec 2015, with 9 miles on it currently 16,000. Had the exact same issues, the throttle body has been replaced, we have driven about 1,000 miles since and now it is vibrating enough it is noticable. Altho we have had several issues, such as bubbles on the dash, have had to have the parking brake wire replaced, a dent in the roof from the manufacture, and a radio that has intermittent mind of its own. 1st brand new car for us, and I don't know it will ever happen again, this has been rediciulous
I'm sorry you're having so much trouble with your car. I hope it get's fixed soon. I haven't had any more trouble since they put a new throttle body on. I hope its stays this way
Bought a 2016 Fusion in March, last week my wife was on her way home and it started shutting off while driving. I took it out for a ride and it didn't shut off on me but, I heard a loud noise on exceleration and the wrench light came on. Bought it home, shut it off and restated it. Wrench light didn't come back on. The car has exactly 2000 miles on it. Bringing it to the dealer the following day the car started losing power and shutting off again. Didn't make it to the dealer before it died and wouldn't restart. Roadside Assistance towed it in. Dealer tells me they called the Ford Hotline, they are "leaning toward" the powertrain module but looking for help. I told the dealer it has several issues, shutting off while driving, wrench light and now won't start. Definitely a safety issue! After 4 days at the dealer I'm told, "we ordered the powertrain module but it's on back order." Anyone else hear of issues with the powertrain module or are they drawing straws on what's wrong with a brand new car?
Hello everyone, I've had my ford fusion 2016 for about 5 months and I've been to the dealer twice this week. My power train fault light (wrench light) came on and the car completely stopped in the middle of the freeway. I brought it to the dealer and they told me the computer needed an update and it should be fine. 2 days later the same thing happened, again on the freeway. This time both the check engine and power train light came on. I am currently at the dealer and they're replacing the throttle body. This seems to be a problem with these cars. It is very upsetting because I bought this new car hoping I wouldn't have to be in the mechanic every month, this shouldn't happen.
I had mine replaced after driving a couple thousand miles and it worked fine after. Now I'm having an issue with going in reverse and the car jumps and is loud.
my neighbor had a fairly new Nissan Maxima.it was a very nice car.never once in the shop for anything.NOW,her daughter went and bought a brand new Fusion. car looks real good,so her mom goes and trades her Maxima for a Fusion, same color, same year, same everything! so now they have TWO Blue Fusions.i can't bring myself to tell them about the problems the Fusions are having because they will think i'm trashing their vehicles maybe because i don't have a new vehicle like they do,which i don't want one to start with! IF.i were to hit the lottery i would maybe buy a used Toyota or Honda anyways.but for now,i'll just stick with my ole 2000 F150 with 319,000 miles on it!
I have a Ford Fusion Hybrid 2016. Last week it started having difficulty accelerating and poor gas mileage, then the wrench symbol came on. Took it to dealer, suspect throttle body sensor problem but have to wait a few days for the part.
I have a 2016 Ford fusion keeps doing the same thing seems as it wants to shut off runs real bad. Just it back from the ford place after 3 weeks and still the same they said they wasn't anything wrong with car. Got an attorney and they refused to talk to him and hung up on him. I am now paying for a car I am afraid to drive.
I have a 2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid. First had the double wrench at 60k miles. I replaced it with a new one from Advance Auto($110 w/lifetime warranty). I currently on the 4th replacement one(all free) as it seems to fail after 10k miles now. It is easy to replace, right in the front with 4 bolts and 1 hose clamp. The car has otherwise been flawless, not even a brakejob yet 90k miles.
thais is my 3rd throttle body on my 2 year old car 2016 ford fusion..
Electronic throttle body needed replaced on mine today.
i bet that was costly!here is another common problem also.>>>Harsh or Delayed Shifting of Automatic Transmission on Ford Fusion The automatic transmission may develop shifting concerns. On lower mileage vehicles, upgrading the software in the powertrain control module (PCM) and the transmission control module (TCM) may correct the problem. As the mileage increases, internal transmission damage can occur. Repairs could involve replacement of the valve body or a complete transmission rebuild. Whenever major transmission repairs are made, it is important to be sure the PCM and the TCM have the latest software updates to help prevent these issues from reoccurring.
