How can you tell if your transmission is going out?

What is your question?

I have never had problems with my ford fusion...well that I can tell. I was curious if anyone has had a problem accelerating? Like when I go to take off it is slow and takes awhile? is that problems of a transmission? It will shift but it takes awhile.. I don't know how other to describe it. Other then that when I am driving I have no issues...I am not sure if I made any sense or not..
