What could it be if when im pumping gas it stops like it has a full tank?

What is your question?

When I'm pumping gas sometimes it stops like if it has a full tank of gas. If I'm not holding the gas pump it will sometimes splash out. what could this be? I have not had it check out yet.

YOU COULD HAVE A KINK OR BLOCKAGE IN THE VENT TUBE TO YOUR FUEL TANK

I had this problem with my 2006 Ford Freestyle & the dealership had to replace the check valve in the vent tube. It was about $125 repair & has been great ever since.
