What is your question?
How do I open the hood when the release inside the car does not work due to a dead battery. The doors are unlocked but everything else is completely dead. I need to jump the car and cannot open the hood. There must be a way to open the hood manually.
What makes this problem better or worse?
The battery is dead and I need to replace but cannot get under the hood.

If you can get into the cabin of the car there is a manual hood release. Its located on the driver side lower kick panel. Basically, if you are sitting in the driver seat, look the to left of you shin. Its a black lever you pull towards you. Alex
Thanks but that does not answer my question. I know how to connect the cables to jump the car. Problem is I cannot open the hood to get to the battery.
Well - when I answered there was another posted suggestion on how to open the hood - I have no idea why it's not here now . Whatever! Try this: On the inside of the car, *pull the latch* located under the steering wheel and close to the drivers side door. The hood should pop up. Now with the hood popped up, go to the front of the vehicle and find the second latch under the hood, which is located toward the left. Pull this latch toward the right and open hood. Insert the key behind the Ford logo on the grille, turn counter clockwise to release the lock and then clockwise to release the safety catch. The bonnet / hood will then open up. Below is a video link showing how it's done: https://youtu.be/TK6pjsYGXlw â–ªï¸One of these methods has got to workâ–ªï¸ Good luck!
