Fuel gauge

There is a problem either with the fuel sending unit or the gauge. I don't suspect wiring, because if it was wiring, it would either show a full or empty tank, but not somewhere in the middle. Testing is needed using a diagnostic tool to find out if the gauge responds properly to signal inputs.
