Test 'actual' voltage @ battery terminals with a volt meter upon startup ... IF voltage output recovers in a few *seconds* .... it isn't likely to be a problem as the alternator must replenish what was drawn from batteries during glow plug warm up - plus cranking the engine... which is amplified in COLD weather!
Thank you "Pushrod" yer probably right, been with this truck for 19 years and i'm probably overly concerned..I notice the little things it "hasn't done before"...the "recovery" is actually a few minutes (?). I'm old & get sticker shock easy new ones are ridiculous & just don't look as good as mine. If a man takes care of his truck, his dog & a part time woman, life is good. thank you again Pushrod
LOL... You got it figured out down to a "T"... I agree 100%... As long as this volt meter deal doesn't get worse and truck cranks ok, I wouldn't pay it much mind.... (It's been awhile but I paid less for my HOUSE than some of these trucks cost today!) Have a good one...
