It's a 1996 vehicle. It's OBD ll compliant. You have a DLC 3 connector under the dash on the drivers side.
Negative. Its a 1996 F250. Nothing in the cab of the truck. Have searched and searched.
Rear tank has a bad fuel pump. Only use the front tank. But yes, both show "empty".
could be the sender/float arm/switch or the gauge.only way to tell is either guess at it or have a scan test done.
Thank you for your reply. You don't happen to know where the OBD 1 port is located on a 1996 Ford F250XL do you? I have been to four (4) Inspection stations and no one can seem to locate the OBD Port on this truck! Very frustrating to say the least!!
look under the hood, drivers side near firewall near corner.
What does it look like? There are a few attached to the fender. One has EEC Test on it. Am I warm? I am simply trying to get this truck inspected and these kids in these inspection stations are clueless. Any help is appreciated.
Yeap, you are warm, but the kids ain't! they still wet behind the ears!>>There are scantools specifically for these older plugs.....So you will need to have them connect a scantool that they would to ford trucks 95 and older. The EEC4 self test connector is actually under the hood, it is clipped into a plastic shield mounted to the drivers side fender, it is very close to the cruise control servo between the brake booster and the fender.
