yes!and make SURE to put the correct type fluid in it!!they can not be mixed or transmission damage will occur.it is marked on the handle and stamped on the dip stick.do not over fill!the 4R70W transmission takes MERCON Vneeds to be checked when transmission is at normal operating temp,on level ground, engine running!
couple things. my truck was towed 3 miles. i had it in neutral. never exceeded 45 mph in tow. my trans, only stays in one forward gear. park and reverse work fine. could that or being low on fluid cause that. idk how long it was low on fluid b4 i checked it on 10-17-2015. i added fluid to the required, level. still only works in one forward speed. wont shift to the cruising gear.
i don't think towing it hurt anything.if you just had to add a little fluid, and it was not doing this before, idk?how many miles on it?and is the overdrive button on the shifter maybe turned off and the light maybe burned out?i have a 2000 F-150 Supercab 4.6L 2WD automatic with 308,000 miles on it.
Od light is blinking. I got 120ooohdmiles on it. I do not know how long it was low on fluid. I added a half a Quart to put it where it need to be. I can put in low then shift manually to the next one then put it in drive but it won't go in that gear. It'll stay like in second gear im guessing
AAMCO will scan your transmission free of charge to see what is going on with it.lots of possible things.could be a solenoid, maybe a wire going to the transmission burnt?transmission also has a computer inside it.like i said in previous post i have the 4R70W transmission.i had it rebuilt a few years ago.
ok i guess the correct level is in between those 2 lines. thanks
