If it was a coilpack, I would think cylinders 1,5 would have the misfire not just 1. So, the wire itself could be the issue. May need new wireset.
What engine?
True pushrod.....I did assume possible v6. Ooopppsss!
its 5.4 liter v8 could it be an injector issue if its misfiring?
I thought about that too except you stated no power to coil or wire. Need to find break in power flow. Logical choice is the wire itself. Does not mean for certain that will be the issue.
yeah i just cant get the whole harness from ford or anything. should i just wire the whole coil down to the starter and change that wire only. i was told today that just a multi meter wouldnt pick up the short flow of current need a certain kind?
You can try Autozone to see if they have a single replacement wire for your vehicle. But now that I know you have a 5.4 liter, you need to check for the switching signal to be present. This is between the fuel injection computer and the COP ignition coil. Here's a process to test it. http://easyautodiagnostics.com/ford/4.6L-5.4L/how-to-test-the-cop-coils-1
ok thank you, what would it be like if the gap wasnt set proper on that spark plug? what should they be gapped at .52-.55?
.054-.056. You should shoot for .055. :)
a new wireset, would that be the whole wiring harness that goes to every coil? or just the two wires from the cylinder 1? probably better off doing the whole thing eh?
All the wires. I don't think they really sell them individually.
