Well, my engine runs rough at an idle but smooths out after excellerating also,my heater blows cold instead of hot,no matter where controls are set? This is driven on a daily bassis and no change and does not consume any water!

get inside truck, roll up the windows, turn radio off,no noise at all inside truck,ok. now turn switch to on,not start.listen while turning the knob for cold and hot,the one in the middle, while turning the knob from cold to hot,you should here a little motor sound while doing this.that means its working,if no noise,thea/c-heater blend door actuator is not working.its stuck on cold.if this is the case, remove the center bottom panel at floor, its right there.i have the same truck, and it happened to me,only when it was 18 degree's outside, weds.before thanksgiving.had to wait till monday, dealer item only when it happened to me several years ago.but you can get it anywhere now.dorman has one,part#604-205 is what mine takes, and yours to,but make sure its correct,if thats your problem.post findings
Heater core or thermostat for the heat
yes, that is possible also, but i just wanted him to try the actuator first.it's easy to check.also he didn't mention any coolant smell or windows fogging up,or temp. problems,or coolant in floor.but anything is possible.hope it's not the core,baaad-daaay
no im not going thru any water and there is no coolant smells at all but i was wondering if i could somehow get that acuater part that your talking about to get the heat to work temporarily as the auto wrecking and auto part stores are closed for a couple a days ?
did you check that door to see if it was humming when you switched from hot to cold???and also if it's not making a humming noise when you turn from hot to cold,it ain't working, and it would not be a temp.fix,it would be a perm. fix.i told you where it is located.yes,i have a part number, and you gotta have an autozone close by,and they never close, except on Thanksgiving, and Christmas.thats the only 2 days they are closed.the part number is 604-205 Dorman A/C Heater Blend Door Actuator,it is $39.99 plus tax.you need to make sure the one on there now is not working, before putting a new one on,ok.check it like i said,FIRST.let me know what you find out.don't throw parts at it,till you make sure!!
Thanks alot Stevieray1 you dont even know how hard ive beeen trying to find you because you have helped me before, and yes i will try this and get back to you, hay man thanks alot!!!
your welcome.and i forgot to mention, when mine quit working,i had just picked the truck up,from radiator shop.heater core went out,8 hour job for 2 people.what happened to me was antifreeze had leaked down in the actuator and shorted it out.the guy tried to tap on it,to get it to switch to hot,but that time it didn't work.let me know!!!i have the 4.6L,but i don't think it matters.
