compressor clutch cycling more than usual? how was the freon level checked?also, put a thermometer in the center face vent,what temperature is it blowing out?

i have the same truck,but it's a 2000 F150 Supercab 4.6L and it blows 39 degree air out of the front vents...just turned over to 316,000 miles...late 97-03 are the same....
