97 Ford F-150 v6 4.2,there is a big catalytic converter leak.
What is your question?
My question is,will this catalytic converter leak cause the engine to knock/click? There is no codes,and the truck runs fairly good,thank you in advance.

No, a leak in the exhaust will not cause engine noise. It will cause exhaust noise, but not engine noise.

YES and NO,THE LEAK WON'T CAUSE THAT,BUT if the inside of the converter breaks loose it will sound just like a ROD KNOCKING in the engine sometimes! done been there and seen/heard it,then it quit all of a sudden. if the one i am talking about was a rod knocking,that will not quit.you probably can't hear that knocking/clicking doing 55 mph,just when idling probably or at very low speeds?

Thank you,I was trying to eliminate a rod bearing noise,the truck had the intake gasket failure,the owner was driving the truck for years with the antifreeze leaking,just topped the antifreeze trough out the years,my assumption is that the bearings are shot,what do you think?
