I have an 18.2 gallon gas tank but it only holds 16.75 gallons. Why is that?

What is your question?

I ran my rear tank empty till my engions starter losing power so I was sure it was empty. Then I switched to my frunt or aft tank that is a 19 gallon but it only holds 18.65 gallons. I asumed it was normal.

Lay of the land will affect fuel tank fill volume - fill on level ground. Fuel tank volume as written is a close approximation.

Observe FUEL GAUGE.. Planned fuel reserve perhaps is the manufacturer's intention - so you don’t run out of fuel so easily.
