What is your question?
I was told by dealer that after the recall work, a front end alignment would also need to be done. I would be responsible for the front end alignment. is this true? I feel like I'm being taken advantage of. thank you

Directly from recall 19S17 : Customers can bring their vehicles to a dealership, where mechanics will replace the left- and right-hand rear suspension toe links with new, forged ones, and align the rear suspension. The reference number for the recall of Ford Explorers is 19S17.
Take your vehicle to a Ford dealership that isnt run by crooks. The recall does specify a rear end alignment is needed, but that actually makes no sense at all because when you align a vehicle, whatever you adjust in the rear affects the front. If you get your toe links replaced, and the tech goes to align the vehicle, front toe may not be out, but rear toe will be. Once rear toe is adjusted, front toe will then be out depending on how far rear toe was adjusted. Dealerships that arent ran by crooks are well aware of this and will not charge you. Theres no such thing as a "rear end only" alignment because doing so will mess the front end up significantly. You can get away with only adjusting the front, but not the rear. Ive been performing 4 to 5 of these recalls a day and i have to adust front and rear on every one of them. And we dont charge the customer a thing.
Note > ALIGN THE *REAR* SUSPENSION ! Yes you will be responsible for the *FRONT END* alignment charges as that is not included in the recall.. You can certainly opt out of the FRONT END alignment if desired - furthermore, you can certainly have another facility do the alignment at a later date if desired.. You do NOT have to get the front end alignment at all - it is entirely up to you.
