Why does my car suddenly take longer to crank after filling up with gas?

Scan test evaporative emissions (EVAP) system required.. Note: Habitually *topping off* fuel tank will make these failures more pronounced! Engine is being temporarily flooded by raw fuel / fuel vapors while filling tank due to EVAP component failure. Until repairs can be completed - holding accelerator pedal to floor will help start flooded engine. Good luck!
