Hello, When you see the code P0299, it does not mean the turbocharger has failed, it means there is a loss of pressure in the turbocharger system. This reaches from the turbocharger compressor wheel and oil seal, all the way through the turbocharger piping, intercooler, and intake manifold. That being said, you may have a bad turbocharger, but I would not rule out a boost piping leak before pressure testing the system.
