I was unaware a hose was leaking water and my 2003 ford explorer overheated. Ive replaced the hose, it doesnt leak anymore and temperater is normal. after that my transmission wasnt shifting correctly. I checked the fluid, it showed I had none so I added some. 30 minutes later I checked it again and what I had added was gone. looking under the truck I found no leaks and nothing was wet from any fluid. I checked my radiator again just to be sure it wasnt loosing water and discovered there was transmission fluid in my radiator
How long has your 2003 Ford Explorer had this problem?
after it overheated a few days ago

The transmission fluid cooler is an integral part of the radiator - it is not uncommon for the cooler to rupture and send transmission fluid into the coolant. Radiator replacement will be required .. Also check transmission fluid for any signs of antifreeze contamination - IF present - glycol will destroy the transmission clutches..
