What is your question?
I just wanted to know an idea I was told so many different things? Guy at sears told me i have to replace my engine basically. The car is working fine. We do regular maintenance, replaced transmission and catalytic converter. I just want to know what is involved to gage if the labor is reasonable.

pb blaster is your best friend!where did it break?can you still get the socket on it?
"If the ceramic is broken out, Do not try to remove metal base as it will collapse inwards and then you will have a very serious problem (been there and done that already). Find an old spark plug of exact size/make. Carefully remove the crimped seal that retains Ceramic plug insulator to the base. Then, from the bottom side of the plug, slowly carefully tap lightly on the Ceramic so as not to break it, then it will separate and come out. Insert the removed ceramic top down into the old base still in the motor, place apiece of hardwood (oak or similar) on top of the new tip and gently tap it down into the old base still in motor. When it starts to get tighter in the old base, be careful, but tap it as far as you can get it to go. Carefully place your spark plug wrench back down over the old base and gently apply pressure and "PRAY!" "It should free itself and come on out if the new ceramic tip is inserted as deep into the old base as it will go. What happens is when the old Ceramic Tip separates and 'Blows' out of the old plug base; most people will automatically insert a wrench onto the separated metal p;lug base left screwed into the motor head and try t remove it. Because there is nothing to strengthen the base walls with the original ceramic tip gone...;It collapses inward and jams down in the head. "IF" you have already messed up and done this, do not despair but carefully make sure the piston is on the down-stroke in the cylinder and place a large tapered drift punch down into the hole where the ceramic tip 'was', and work it out back as close as possible to original size. Then insert the 'new' tip as described above and "PRAY AGAIN!" You should be able to get it out. If all else fails, remove the head and take it out from the backside (inside the firing cap of the head as it is then accessible. Some things can be tough but persistence and patience pays off. NOTE: "IF" you are subject to a quick temper~~"LET SOMEONE ELSE DO IT!" "GOOD LUCK~YOU WILL NEED IT!"
The socket can go on it, they told me it might break no one tried anything else but to remove the top of the engine
