My truck wouldn't crank this morning and i added 5quarts of oil because my low oil sign was on, and now it will crank and run for a couple of mins, run hot and cut off whats the problem

Depending on which engine you have (V6 or V8), your engine holds between 5 and 6 quarts of oil. So, if you added 5 quarts, the engine was essentially bone dry and may have incurred extensive damage.
