What is your question?
The key turns over but it only has one loud click, coming from the starter shooting the piston back, but it will not turn on. I have had the battery checked, it is good and charged, tried jumping it with no success. I replaced the alternator because they told me it was bad but that didn't help. Checked all of my fuses and they are all good. Please give me an idea what I can do, thank you.

are you sure the clicking is coming from the starter, and not the starter solenoid mounted on the fire wall?if so ,check all the connections, tight,CLEAN,hooked up,including grounds.get a helper and try starting it,while helper taps on the starter, see if it starts by doing that,if so then the starter is bad.
A simple and old fashioned way to see if starter or solenoid is bad, I think it is. Tap on starter and solenoid lightly. If starter turns over, then bingo theirs your problem. I recommend replacing starter and solenoid as a pair. These first generation starter solenoids do fail. You can also use a remote starter on firewall solenoid to be sure if wiring up to it is good. Be sure all connections are clean and tight. Most electrical problems happen when grounds or connections get corroded. Keep us posted.
i pretty much said all of that in my post.starter is NEW,solenoid is NEW on the firewall! alternator is NEW.IT WILL NOT JUMP START EITHER.been 5 months since, and no reply back as always?ENGINE is probably locked up!!
What I would do is two things. 1 get a socket and ratchet and try turning engine from your pulley. If it turns ok, your not locked up. Then I would pull starter you installed, get jumper cables, put negative on base of starter that bolts to engine. Then touch hot lead of cable to solenoid on starter hot lead. If it's ok starter drive will pop out and starter will spin. You can also bring the starter to oreillys or any auto store they have a machine to test it. On your solenoid on firewall pull small push on wire from ignition switch, check with a test light as someone turns key. Should light if switch and wiring up to it are good. Next get a volt meter check same solenoid on both sides of positive cable to be sure 12v is passing through. Keep us posted, hopefully you got a bad starter, or something besides the engine. I'm part of a forum called tapa talk expedition first generation. If your not getting people to respond here. We quickly get back on that one.
i'm the one THAT'S responding to you,NOT the OWNER!!
I think this thread is too old, and owner hasn't read , or updated his progress. Oh well
most never do reply back with the FREE information folks give them here to fix their vehicle!most never post what they found to fix their problem to maybe help someone else having the same problem, but should.this site is WORLDWIDE and FREE!!
That's why I do tapatalk. This site is lame! I'm a regular on tapatalk ford expedition website. You should check it out. People on that site go back and forth daily, and post results.
i'll check it out.don't have EXPY,but I do have a 2000 F150 ext cab 4dr,4.6L 2wd WITH 309,500 MILES!
They have a f150 site. The reason I landed on this site was because I couldn't add f150 to my tapatalk acct. figures the one that let's me in is dead.
Yeah I was under it when someone tried starting it, the sound is the starter. I've been looking all all of the connections and everything looks good. Tried a new starter with no results
solenoid on the fire wall checked out ok?
Brand new
check the small wire on the firewall solenoid while someone turns switch to crank it.see if you are getting a signal from the ignition switch.use a test light or a volt meter.
