We have a person working on our car & they where wondering if my car had a interference engine & they could not find where the knock sensor go at on my car?

yes it IS an interference engine!2000-'01 – The block was revised in 2000. The YS4E-DA casting looked just like the earlier F8CE-AA block with the hole for the knock sensor on the right side and the pad for the PCV on the left side, but the vent hole wasn't machined and the three small holes around it weren't drilled because the PCV system was changed so they were no longer needed.
So wear would the knock sensor be at on the engine?because our engine is a 2.0L
On the back of the engine, under the intake manifold. It has two wires going to it. There is also an oil pressure switch near it but it only has one wire going to it, that is how you tell the difference.why does your mechanic want to know if it's an interference engine?timing belt break?why changing the knock sensor.
Yes our timing belt broke but he fix it but there was something else wrong and we fix it but he didn't know where the knock sensor went at cause he couldn't find where it went because I was driving when one of the belts broke on our car then we found out that the timing belt broke too .
if the timing belt broke, and someone kept trying to start it,then you may/will have internal damage, valves may have bent!knock sensors rarely go bad!if they detect engine noise,it will set that code!!
Ok but where would the knock sensor be located at on the engine cans you please send a picture of it .because it is a single camshaft engine plus its 2.0L.

Ok so what do we do if one of the valve are bent ?
most likely, you have more than ONE bent,if someone was trying to restart it after the belt broke.see youtube video.someone will need to inspect it,to find out damage done, and repair cost.
Can you replace the valve that is bent without replacing the whole head or whole engine?
have it checked by qualified mechanic.
Ok because the guy we had working on it said that we need to replace the head & gasket or the whole engine I don't think he really check it good enough .
