What is your question?
Don't know if I have a blown engine or blown head gasket. When my car broke down it had lost rpms first then it blew black smoke and stopped then made a really low ticking noise then quit that then blew white smoke and that's when I killed the engine. There was oil coming out of the dipstick and my coolent was still full in my resivoir. And it will try to crank over and start but wont.

Sorry I am unable to answer your specific question. I 'inherited' a '98 Escort that is not running. So I am going to 'tinker' with it over the summer, hope to get it going. But I want to tell you this: While I am just a 'shadetree' mechanic, I have learned a lot about repairing autos. Currently I have a 1991 Mazda Protege and a 1992 Dodge Dakota 4 X 4 that I keep running. I have purchased Haynes manuals for both (Chilton's manuals are similar, so you have an option). The manuals, supplemented by information I am able to access online (ask.com, youtube, etc.) have enabled me to keep them going. What stimulated my response to your question is the reply that repair of your auto will exceed the car's value. I would take this advice with great caution. Many of the parts I have used to replace those on the protege and dakota I get from a car-yard (Pull & Save). I have had great success with this. Depending on your situation, if you have time and interest, you may be able to learn a lot about the problem with your car issue(s) even if you are not able to repair it yourself. I will also say this: I would much rather put time and effort into keeping these autos that a PAID IN FULL (no payments!) running, than into throwing money at monthly payments.Anyway, don't give up quickly. The value of my protege and dakota far exceeds that of the 'blue book' or other system that places a monetary value on the vehicles. I hope this is helpful to you. Best wishes. DakotaProtege
Well.....I guess that sort of qualifies as an answer...
