Likely intermittent ‘instrument cluster’ malfunction - *hands-on* testing by qualified personnel will be required.
If you have 3 lights on your dashboard. TPMS , Brake-Light , Door-Ajar. ( Mostly at the same time ) You have an Instrument Cluster Loose Connector issue. ( The Connector is on the top-right side ) This Causes Intermittent activity, causing the lights to turn . If you Hit/Smack/Tap the Plastic Shield in front of your Speedometer. The warning lights will turn off. ( Same as if you hit a decent size bump in the road ) Note: That a Loose connector will lead to the Instrument Cluster ( Speedometer ) lights to stay on 3 minutes after you lock your vehicle. Also: your A/C will not blow cold air until the Instrument Cluster connector issue is fixed.
I had this exact problem on a 2011 Escape and could not find any solid advice to correct it... until now. The low tire pressure, door ajar and emergency brake indicator lights on the instrument panel would light up intermittently. The warning beeper would chime, dash signal indicator lights would stop working, radio volume would decrease and A/C would stop working. This drove my wife crazy and I thought I would have to scrap the car since I would not be able to sell it in that condition. The reply from Kyle saved my car from the scrap yard. The dashboard cover above the instrument cluster can be removed to provide access to the electrical connector at the top right side of the cluster. Reseating this connector solved the problem. What a tremendous relief! Cost of this repair is $0 if you do it yourself. Many thanks to Kyle!!
