How do you change a defective fuel pump sensor in a 2007 ford escape

do you mean the SENDER?gas gauge not reading correct?or do you mean fuel tank pressure sensor?if you're meaning the fuel pump sending unit,then your fuel gauge is not reading correctly.you have to replace the entire fuel pump module assembly,the sender/float/switch is not sold separate.the only good thing is that you don't have to drop the fuel tank!lift the rear seat cushion,lift the carpet under the seat,detach the access door on the floor to reach the fuel pump module on the fuel tank.if replacing the unit,CAREFUL WHEN REMOVING INSIDE VEHICLE.also there are several different ones that fit your vehicle!!$230.00-$700.00----need build to date,or built from date!also with or without onboard vapor recovery system!

i do not understand why the pressure has anything to do with the gauge???
