Incorrect installation of brake pads!!!.... That's your problem!. The pads OR calipers are NOT working properly, have it checked out.... Let us know what you find. That may help others with a similar problem.... There is a couple test you can do to find the problem IF you want to know!
With two clamping tools, clamp 'shut' the two from rubber flex hoses that go to the calipers...... 'Without driving'.... Try brake pedal now!!!!.... Post results!
Not really worried about leaks at this time!.... Right side is your trouble spot!... Concentrate on that caliper and pads installation, pad(s) may be binding,... caliper may not be sliding on it's mounting hardware....also a loose wheel bearing can cause this problem!... Compare everything to the left side to see if any difference!... Look at the right side closely and you should find the problem.... IF you did not open the system.... Should not have air, but just to be sure you may want to bleed that caliper as a last test!... Let me know if you need more help and how you make out...
just got back in side and saw your response .
I tore the right side apart and found that 1 of the clips on back of inner pad was not seated inside of piston cup, corrected that
and it was fixed.
I appreciate your help in pointing me in the right direction
Jim
Sure there Jim... I have pretty good...'luck' ... I guess, with brake repair!... Even got a piece of paper somewhere that says I should....however it means nothing, only that a written test was passed... It's what you can do that counts most!!! Glad you got it fixed...
update brakes went soft again, pulled right side apart and clips had come out of place again same on left side.
I returned the pads to store and was told that pads were defective, apparently something was wrong with the clips.
Anyway to make a long story shorter put it all back together and its been good for over a week now.
I hope this helps someone else.
Jim
new pads and rotors on front but did not open any brake lines. no lights on in dash.
