What is your question?
When I attempt to start the car by turning the ignition, my vehicle does not start. Sometimes I have to pump the gas pump at the same time I turn the ignition for the vehicle to start. This problem has happened frequently. What can I do? email: anna1213_howell@yahoo.com

This is a fuel injected car, pumping the gas realy doesn't do much. I would try a tune up. Spark plugs, air filter, and a GOOD fuel system treatment.
I have a 2001 escape, that will intermittenly start. Seems the fuel pump will engage sometimes. The fuel pump should make a noise when you turn the key, but just before the motor turns over. In my case when I turn the key if I hear the fuel pump the car will start. If I don't hear the fuel pump, it will not start. Do you hear the fuel pump priming every time you turn the key?
Hi and thanks. I will certainly give it all a try.
I had same problem this morning. I could hold the accelerator down slightly and it would start and run fine. After 2-3 minutes at idle, car ran fine. Car then sat for 30 minutes and had same problem.
