Loud engine noise when starting a cold engine.

What is your question?

When starting a cold engine, the noise sounds similar to a diesel engine. As rpm's go down so does the noise but is still present but not as loud. It's a SEL model 2020 Edge with twin-turbo engine. The dealership said it's the vacuum style fuel pump? Any one with similar problem. Vehicle has 1000 miles and other then that performs fine. greg

Going to be difficult to disagree with dealer since *hands-on* evaluation greatly outweighs online speculation.

Ask dealer to start another one with same features that’s on the lot - should be same.
