System is designed to turn on the ac compressor when defroster/defogger setting is chosen .. That 'should help' clear the inside of windshield and windows as the air conditioner is a great de-humidifier! .. You can always try turning the temperature control up to a higher setting. Thoroughly cleaning windshield and windows inside will also help.
