Out of nowhere for no noticeable reason I turned my a/c on today and no cold air is blowing out. I checked all possible fuses,looked for any obvious signs of leaks and have come up empty handed. Could this simply be a freeon recharge needed. Fans blow fine. Hot air blows fine. Cooling fans kick on. Alternator seems to be working fine. Any ideas and price estimate would be greatly appreciated before I take to the shop and get taken advantage of. Thank you

Hello, I appreciate your question and concern, but the tough thing is: You've gone as far as you can without getting it looked at professionally. The only other thing that I could do before hooking up a set of gauges and refrigerant recovery equipment is listen for the compressor cycling on and off. If it's not turning on at all, you could have a system low in refrigerant, or you could have an electrical concern with the under hood refrigerant system. Either way, further troubleshooting is needed.
