My 2012 Ford Edge will not start what could be the problem

What is your question?

When I try to start my Ford Edge I stick the key in the ignition all the lights on the dash column in radio come on but then when I turn it over to start it everything goes dead completely and it will not start so I give it a jump and it will start but when it's turned off it does it again

How long has your 2012 Ford Edge had this problem?

Not sure just bought it
